Christmas

Yesterday evening my very good friend D- er, Evan stopped by to deliver some holiday cheer to my fam. I was very touched by this and in the spirit of the season I thought I would share with you, my hypothetical reader, a list of my favorite Christmas carols.

(in no particular order)
The Carol of the Bells (Mmm-kay) by Mr. Mackey

The Christians and the Pagans by Dar Williams – This talented young lady conveys both humor and warmth with this little ditty. Plus, the unabashed dottiness of one of the main characters reminds me of damn near all the neo-pagans I’ve ever met=) (Christmas is like Solstice!)

Angels We Have Heard On High (Gloria! In Excelsis Deo) – My favorite version of this has to be from the Vienna Boys Choir although I can honestly say I haven’t heard a bad version yet. In fact, I am sure there is an Ass-Hat out there somewhere Roseanne Barr-ing his way through this piece as I type this, it just hasn’t gotten around to pissing on my day yet. Savages.

Sting’s version of Gabriel’s Message – Haunting, melodic and just a bit pretentious… plus, I’ve heard that whenever you hear a song by Sting playing, Dick Cheney’s evil powers decrease by a fraction… that’s gotta be a good thing.

The Most Offensive Christmas Carol Ever by Mr. Hankey and Kenny – When I first heard this song I thought I was gonna die from laughter or shock or a plague of frogs or something as it truly lives up to its title.

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen performed by Charlotte Church – In fact, I have yet to hear one of her Christmas songs that I didn’t like. Oh, and kudos on the rack there Charlotte, very nice=)
